The ZXa/ZXe Repeaters are compact remote 1/0 device for the
ZXa and ZXe intelligent multi protocol fire alarm control panels. These
units, along with other remote 1/0 devices and the external printer provide
a complete range of peripheral devices to further enhance the functionality
and expendability of the ZXa/ZXe intelligent multi protocol fire alarm
control panels. |
The Repeaters provide an extension to the operation of the Fire Alarm Control
Panels. There are two types available; the passive Repeater and the active
Repeater. Both types display the operational state of the panel using the 2x4O
LCD and the six common status LED indicators (Power, Fault, Accepted, Silenced,
Disabled, Fire). In addition to the panel status indication, the Full Repeater
is equipped with a key operated "Access Enable" switch and can also control the
panel using the SYSTEM RESET, MUTE/ACCEPT, SiLENCE/RESOUND, and SOUND ALARMS
functions. The repeaters are connected to the ZXa/ZXe control panels via the
RS485 peripheral port (Port D). An RS485 communication card must be fitted in
the ZXa or ZXe intelligent multi protocol fire alarm control panel for that
purpose. The panel supervises the Active Repeater whereas the Passive Repeater
is a display-only device and is not supervised by the panel. In case of a
communication failure both annunciators will indicate a system fault whereas the
panel will indicate only a communication failure with an Active Repeater. The
repeaters require an external power supply to operate. Power may be taken from
the auxiliary power supply output on the ZXa/ZXe or any other suitable DC supply
of suitable voltage and current rating listed for fire protection use. The RS485
peripheral address is set via an onboard DIP switch. Other peripherals can be
daisy chained on the same line. Up to a maximum of 31 Active or Passive
Repeaters can be connected on a peripheral bus. |
