Sonos Sounder

New alarm sounders from Klaxon Signals allow faster installation and maintenance thanks to an innovative mounting base. Dispensing with the need for locking screws, Sonos sounders and sounder beacons use TimeSaver bases. Heads are simply locked onto the base with a “twist and click” action, allowing fitting or removal at any time.

As the cabling requirement is reduced, commissioning time and costs are naturally reduced as well.

Although tone and volume settings can be preset, Sonos also allows individual adjustment of the head settings for installations where precise local control is needed. Optimised for use in fire systems, the range provides 32 distinct alarm tones, with outputs up to 10 dBA at 1 metre depending on the tone.

A combined sounder and beacon is also offered for applications requiring visual as well as audible warnings. To ensure all-round visibility, the entire sounder head is transparent.

As well as the standard shallow base, Sonos units can be specified with a deep base for installations in which cable conduit is used. Deep bases are ingress protected to IP65, making them ideal for external as well as internal use.

Klaxon voice enhanced sounders are designed to convey voice messages in addition to the standard tones. This is particularly important in locations where alarms may be misunderstood or ignored, such as pubs, night clubs, restaurants and cinemas.

The Syrex 5 Voice Over has three pre-recorded messages designed for fire alarm use.

Standard messages are:
1. "Fire. Please evacuate immediately"
2. "This is a fire alarm test: no action is required"
3. "Fire alarm test now complete"

The Kommander is a voice sounder with a built-in microphone, allowing the user to record up to four messages. This enables the user to provide clear and effective messages tailored to each situation.

With its flexibility of use and a wide choice of voltages, the Kommander is equally suited for use in both fire alarm and industrial applications.

The Syrex 5 is a high output sounder designed for both fire alarm and industrial applications. With a sound output of 105dB and a choice of three tones, it is ideal for fire alarm applications in areas with higher background noise such as industrial units and warehouses.

The Syrex 5 XN range includes a powerful xenon beacon to provide both audible and visual alarms where required.

With a wide choice of voltages, including 110/230V AC, the Syrex 5 is equally suited for use in industrial applications.

Syrex 6P

The Syrex 6P is a high output multi-tone sounder designed for industrial applications. With a high sound ouput of 112dB and a choice of 32 tones, it can be utilised in almost any location where an effective alarm is needed to penetrate background noise or over a larger alarm.

Weatherproof to IP65, it can be used both indoors and outdoors and has a variety of cable entry options for flexible and fast installation.

Syrex 9M and XN

The Syrex 9M is an ultra high output electronic sounder manufactured from rugged cast aluminium and designed for use in areas of high background noise or where ear defenders are often in use.

With a sound output of over 120dB and a choice of five tones, the sound penetrates background noise from machinery and equipment to provide effective warning in the most difficult environments.

Weatherproof to IP65, the Syrex 9M is equally suited for use in both fire and industrial warning applications where other sounders cannot be heard or where an alarm is required to cover a greater distance.

The Syrex 12 is a powerful disaster warning sounder designed to provide emergency warning over wide areas.

With an output of 140dB and a choice of 32 tones, it is ideally suited to provide alarms for fire, evacuation, toxic gas and general alarms on large industrial or petrochemical sites.

Low current consumption allows the unit to operate from a supply with battery backup in the event of a power failure to maintain an effective warning.

Manufactured from lightweight fibreglass and fitted with a mounting bracket, the unit is designed for ease of installation.

As with all Klaxon wide area sirens and sounders, a full range of control equipment is available from simple hardwire units to sophisticated radio control (further details available on request).

The Syrex Horn Sounder is a compact weatherproof unit primarily designed for use in mobile applications such as cranes, moving machinery, buses and coaches.

With its compact size and a choice of tones, this unit can be fitted in difficult locations without compromising performance.

The Syrex Mikro is a low profile sounder designed to be used in fire alarm systems.

Its prime application is to be installed under proprietary smoke and heat detectors to provide both detection and alarm at the same point, reducing wiring and installation costs. With the optional cover it can also be used as a stand alone sounder.

With a sound output of 90dB and fitted with volume control, it is ideal for areas with low ambient noise where it is desirable to fit a larger number of low power sounders, such as offices and hotel bedrooms.

A choice of colours is available to co-ordinate with various detectors.

Syrex Shrieker and XN

The Syrex Shrieker is a multi purpose electronic sounder designed for fire, security and industrial applications.

For fire alarm applications, the Shrieker has a very low current consumption and is ideal for use in conventional, loop or battery powered systems.

Standard units have a choice of tones. Two models have tones which conform to both UK and French AFNOR standards. Other tone sets are available (details on request).

The Shrieker XN range adds a powerful xenon beacon to the unit to provide both audible and visual alarms where required.

The Shrieker is also suitable for many industrial warning applications with its wide choice of tones, alternative voltage options and low cost.
