Working alongside Sureserve Compliance Fire, we recently helped support the upgrade of a community centre's fire alarm system, enabling the facility to replace an outdated and non-compliant installation with a modern wireless fire detection solution.

What was needed from Firesense?
A community centre operating within the Peabody network was relying on an ageing fire alarm system that no longer met modern compliance requirements.
While the building remained an important local asset, available funding was not sufficient to undertake the necessary upgrade works. As a result, a practical and cost-effective solution was required to improve fire protection while minimising disruption to the facility's day-to-day operations.
Following a site survey, Sureserve Compliance Fire identified a wireless fire detection system as the most suitable approach.
What next?
To maximise the social value generated through the project, Firesense worked closely with Sureserve Compliance Fire to support the delivery of the new system.
Drawing on our strong long-term relationship, Firesense supplied the required fire alarm control equipment and associated devices free of charge, helping remove a key financial barrier to the project.
Selected Solution: SmartCell Wireless Fire Detection
The selected solution was a SmartCell Fire Detection at Firesense wireless fire alarm system, providing modern fire detection technology without the need for extensive cabling infrastructure. This approach reduced installation complexity while ensuring the site benefited from a reliable and compliant fire detection system.
Sureserve's engineering team subsequently installed and commissioned the new equipment, bringing the system fully into operation.
