The Hochiki Ekho Hybrid Wireless Single Output Module EK-WL8-OUT is a wireless single-channel output module designed for use with the Hochiki Ekho hybrid wireless fire alarm system. It allows a compatible fire alarm control panel to wirelessly switch the circuit of an external device through an Ekho Translator or Expander module.

The EK-WL8-OUT provides a 24 VDC(recommended) switched output or a N/O contact only. It is suitable for applications where external equipment needs to be controlled without installing a dedicated wired connection back to the fire alarm panel. The module features bi-directional wireless communication, self-optimising wireless amplitude and frequency, and an integrated fault monitoring input.

As part of the Hochiki Ekho range, the EK-WL8-OUT can be incorporated into Hochiki ESP intelligent fire alarm installations alongside other Ekho wireless devices. Ekho uses a wireless mesh network in which Expander modules can extend the communication range and help maintain connectivity between wireless devices and the Translator.

The Hochiki EK-WL8-OUT is approved to EN54-18 for input/output devices and EN54-25 for components using radio links. It operates in the 866–869.85 MHz frequency range and provides an open-air communication range of up to 1,200 metres, subject to installation conditions. The module uses dual lithium batteries, with the primary battery offering up to 10 years of life depending on operating conditions.

An optional back box is available separately, making the EK-WL8-OUT a flexible solution for integrating external equipment into Hochiki Ekho wireless fire alarm installations.
