GlassProtect U Jeweller is a version of Ajax’s well-known glass break detector, refined to meet strict UK standards. The built-in microphone is fine-tuned to respond only to vibrations characteristic of glass breakage. Thanks to the advanced DualTone digital algorithm, GlassProtect U Jeweller accurately identifies the sound pattern of breaking glass while ignoring common background noise, such as barking dogs, traffic, and water splashing. Three sensitivity levels are available to suit different environments.

Enhanced glass break detection

GlassProtect U Jeweller detects the sound of breaking glass using a sensitive microphone and the DualTone digital algorithm. The alarm will be raised if the device detects a dull, low-frequency sound of impact and a high-frequency sound of glass shattering within 1.5 seconds. This two-stage detection process significantly reduces the chance of false alarms. The detector’s sensitivity can be adjusted in an Ajax app, and there are three available levels to choose from. These flexible settings make the device suitable for use in any space.

Easy integration with third-party detectors

GlassProtect U Jeweller has the connector for a third-party wired NC detector, such as a motion, opening, or vibration detector, whether newly installed or already in use. For third-party opening detectors, the Chime3 feature can be enabled. It provides a sound signal when the opening detectors are triggered while the system is disarmed.

Wire-free flexibility and reliable performance

GlassProtect U Jeweller works wirelessly. Each device comes with a pre-installed CR123A battery from a trusted manufacturer, so the detector is ready to operate right out of the box — no extra steps are needed. Each device battery is tested during production, and Ajax Systems checks every unit to ensure reliable performance. The battery lasts about five years and can be easily replaced when needed. Its state is always available in Ajax apps. Users and monitoring companies receive low battery notifications well in advance and have enough time to replace the battery without urgency.

Unique wireless technology

Jeweller is Ajax’s proprietary radio protocol for secure two-way communication. It provides block encryption and device authentication during each communication session with an Ajax hub or radio signal range extender. Jeweller prevents sabotage, spoofing, and data theft.

System supervision

All Ajax devices continuously perform automatic self-diagnosis and transmit information about their state to the hub in real time. The system constantly monitors critical parameters, such as the states of the tamper button, sensors, communication, and power supply, to ensure flawless operation. Ajax Cloud manages the connection between the hub and Ajax apps, guaranteeing instant notifications for users, CMSs, and security companies. If a malfunction or communication loss is detected, an installer will be immediately informed to provide rapid support and maintain uninterrupted security.

Sabotage protection

Tamper alarm
The detector's enclosure has a tamper button that notifies the monitoring company and users once the device is detached from the mounting panel.

Data encryption
All data the system stores and transmits is protected by block encryption featuring a dynamic key. Encryption makes it extremely difficult to reprogram the device and replace or steal the data.

Informative notifications
An Ajax system instantly notifies about alarms and events. Monitoring companies and users know exactly which device triggered, when, and where it happened.

Regular polling
The device regularly exchanges data with the hub. The system controls each device's state and reports if there is a malfunction or connection loss.

Device authentication against spoofing
The hub checks the device's unique parameters for authentication during each communication session. If any parameter fails the check, the hub ignores the device commands.

Communication loss detection
The device regularly exchanges data with the hub. When the polling interval is set to the minimum (3 data packages once in 12 seconds), it takes only 36 seconds to detect communication loss and notify the monitoring company and users of the incident.

Quick installation and easy setup

GlassProtect U Jeweller comes ready to work right out of the box. Thanks to the SmartBracket mounting panel, installation is quick and requires a minimum of tools, as there is no need to disassemble the enclosure. Adding the device to an Ajax system is also easy: simply scan the QR code in the app. All settings can be adjusted remotely, which makes further configuration fast and effortless. Therefore, no on-site visits are needed.
