DoorProtect Plus U Jeweller is a version of Ajax’s well-known opening detector, refined to meet strict UK standards. It secures the entry points most often targeted by intruders — including doors, windows, skylights, cabinets, and vaults. The device uses reed switch technology to detect opening, while a built-in accelerometer catches attempts to knock out, break, or tilt the door or window. With two magnet options and two reed switches, the detector can be installed on doors and windows of various designs.

Reliable opening detection
At the heart of DoorProtect Plus U Jeweller is robust reed switch technology. The reed switch changes its state when the detector’s magnet moves closer or farther away. Users and the monitoring company instantly receive a notification in Ajax apps when the door or window is opened or closed. The device features two reed switch contacts. Thus, the magnet can be installed on either the right or left side, providing greater flexibility during installation. This ensures accurate and efficient detection, no matter where the device is mounted.

Smart shock detection
Thanks to its built-in accelerometer, DoorProtect Plus U Jeweller detects shocks and vibration, instantly alerting users and the monitoring company when someone tries to force a door or break a window. Installers can adjust the accelerometer’s sensitivity in an Ajax app and even set it to ignore a single impact. This helps prevent false alarms caused by external factors, such as nearby railways, busy streets, or overhanging tree branches.

Error-proof tilt detection
DoorProtect Plus U Jeweller keeps doors and windows secured even if intruders try to shift them slightly and bypass traditional reed switch detection. With an adjustable tilt angle, the detector can protect windows in ventilation mode, raising an alarm only if the tilt exceeds the set threshold. The adjustable tilt alarm delay helps avoid false alarms caused by brief or accidental tilt, such as momentary gusts of wind.

DoorProtect Plus U Jeweller can expand the entry point setup by integrating2 third-party detectors. With a connector for a third-party device, the detector can add an existing or new wired opening, motion, or vibration detector with an NC contact to an Ajax system. This can extend the coverage area, incorporate already installed devices, and manage them seamlessly in a single Ajax app — all within one unified security ecosystem.

When paired with an Ajax siren or keypad with a built-in buzzer, DoorProtect Plus U Jeweller can function as a shopkeeper’s bell, signaling a visitor’s arrival. Installers can assign one of four available sound patterns to different entrances. This way, it will be easy to tell whether someone opened the main door or a back entrance. All settings are configured remotely with a few clicks in an Ajax app.

Each device battery is thoroughly tested during production, and Ajax Systems inspects every unit to guarantee reliable performance. After up to five years of autonomous operation, the battery can be easily replaced. Its status is always visible in Ajax apps. Users and monitoring companies receive low battery notifications months in advance, so the replacement is always well-timed.

Unique wireless technology

Jeweller is Ajax’s proprietary radio protocol for secure two-way communication. It provides block encryption and device authentication during each communication session with an Ajax hub or radio signal range extender. Jeweller prevents sabotage, spoofing, and data theft.

System supervision

All Ajax devices perform automatic self-diagnosis and report their states to the hub. Essential parameters, including tamper, communication, power supply, and sensor states, are continuously monitored. The Ajax Cloud server controls communication between the hub and Ajax apps, ensuring instant notifications for ARCs and users. In case of any malfunction or communication failure, an engineer is informed immediately to provide necessary services.

Sabotage protection

Tamper alarm
DoorProtect Plus U Jeweller has a tamper button that detects dismantling. The system instantly alerts the monitoring company and users if the device is detached from the mounting panel or removed from the surface.

Data encryption
All data stored and transmitted in the system is protected by block encryption with a dynamic key. This encryption makes reprogramming the device and replacing or stealing the data extremely difficult.

Informative notifications
An Ajax system instantly delivers informative notifications of alarms and events. Monitoring companies and users receive precise details about each incident, including time, location, and the triggered device.

Device authentication against spoofing
During each communication session, the hub checks the detector’s unique parameters to authenticate DoorProtect Plus U Jeweller. If any parameter fails the check, the hub ignores the device commands.

Regular polling
The detector regularly exchanges data with the hub. The system controls the device’s state and reports any malfunction or communication loss.

Communication loss detection
With a minimal polling interval (3 data packages in 12 seconds), it takes 36 seconds to detect communication loss and notify the monitoring company and users of the incident.

DoorProtect Plus U Jeweller is ready to operate straight out of the box. With the SmartBracket mounting panel, installation is a breeze — it does not require disassembling the enclosure. Adding the detector to an Ajax system is just as simple: scan the QR code in an Ajax app to pair the device with the hub.
