DoorProtect U Jeweller is a version of Ajax’s well-known opening detector, refined to meet the strict UK standards. It delivers reliable protection wherever break-ins may occur — whether it’s doors, windows, or safes holding valuables. Its dual reed switches ensure accurate detection of unauthorized openings, while the anti-chatter technology minimizes false alarms. Two magnets of different sizes allow for adapting the detector installation to various door and window designs.

Flexible mounting with two reed switches

DoorProtect U Jeweller uses two reed switches for trouble-free opening detection. This design offers more versatile mounting for different installation needs: the magnet can be positioned on either the left or right side of the detector. The reed switches are housed in durable plastic capsules, which ensures their integrity during transportation or accidental drops. For the optimal setup, installers can choose between a larger or a smaller magnet, both included in the kit.

Enhanced security with additional detectors

DoorProtect U Jeweller features a connector for a third-party device with an NC contact. Installers can use it to add an existing or a new wired opening, motion, or vibration detector to an Ajax system. This integration streamlines monitoring over the both detectors within a single Ajax app interface.

More than just a detector

If the system has sirens, DoorProtect U Jeweller can double as a shopkeeper’s bell. Once the door is opened, the siren signals it with one of four available sound patterns. Different signals can be assigned to separate entrances, ensuring that people on-site always know when someone enters through the main door or a back entrance. Configuring these settings takes just a few clicks in the Ajax app.

Wire-free flexibility and reliable performance

DoorProtect U Jeweller operates wirelessly, providing maximum flexibility during installation. The pre-installed battery from trusted manufacturers ensures a hassle-free setup, requiring no extra steps for the device to begin operation. Each battery is thoroughly tested during production, and Ajax Systems inspects every unit to guarantee reliable performance. The battery can be easily replaced after approximately seven years of autonomous operation. Its status is always visible in Ajax apps. Users and security companies receive low battery notifications months in advance, so the replacement is always well-timed.

Unique wireless technology

Jeweller is Ajax’s proprietary radio protocol for secure two-way communication. It provides a block encryption and device authentication during each communication session with Ajax hub or radio signal range extender. Jeweller prevents sabotage, spoofing, and data theft.

System supervision

All Ajax devices perform automatic self-diagnosis and report their states to the hub. Essential parameters, including tamper, communication, power supply, and sensor statuses, are continuously monitored. The Ajax Cloud server controls communication between the hub and Ajax apps, ensuring instant notifications for ARCs, security companies, and users. In case of any malfunction or communication failure, an engineer is informed immediately to provide necessary services.

Sabotage protection

Tamper alarm
The bundled holding screw ensures a more reliable fastening and complicates unauthorized device dismantling. The tamper button alerts the monitoring company and users if the device is detached from the mounting panel or removed from the surface.

Data encryption
All stored and transmitted data in the system is protected by block encryption with a dynamic key. Encryption makes it extremely difficult to reprogram the device and replace or steal the data.

Informative notifications
An Ajax system instantly delivers informative notifications of alarms and events. Security companies and users receive precise details about each incident, including time, location, and the triggered device.

Device authentication against spoofing
During each communication session, the hub authenticates the device by checking the module’s unique parameters. If any parameter fails the check, the hub ignores the device commands.

Regular polling
The device regularly exchanges data with the hub. The system controls each device’s state and reports any malfunction or communication loss.

Communication loss detection
With minimal polling interval settings (3 data packages in 12 seconds), it takes 36 seconds to detect communication loss and notify the security company and users about the incident.

Effortless installation and setup

DoorProtect U Jeweller is ready to operate straight out of the box. It is easy to install with the SmartBracket mounting panel — no need to disassemble the enclosure. Ajax apps help quickly make the device a part of the ecosystem: simply pair the device with the hub by scanning the QR code. It can always be reconfigured remotely without the need for on-site visits.
