MotionProtect Plus U Jeweller is a wireless motion detector equipped with an additional microwave sensor for enhanced accuracy. It detects the movement of objects with temperatures similar to those of the human body. When motion is detected, the device performs an RF scan of the area using its built-in K-band microwave sensor. This approach helps prevent false alarms caused by thermal radiation emitted by objects, such as air conditioners or fireplaces.

PIR sensor
All Ajax motion detectors use PIR sensors by Excelitas Technologies, a field-leading American manufacturer specialising in designing and producing optronic components since 1931. K-band microwave sensor
The K-band microwave sensor scans a room to minimize false alarms caused by thermal radiation. Operating in conjunction with the PIR sensor, it uses microwave technology only for PIR sensor alarm verification. Unlike traditional X-band sensors, the K-band sensor offers enhanced precision and superior energy efficiency. This results in minimal impact on battery lifespan and significantly fewer false alarms. Additionally, the sensor is completely safe and does not harm human health.

Special lens
The pattern of the Fresnel lens sections is designed to differentiate between the IR diagrams of a human, pet, and thermal noise. Large lens sections capture radiation at an adult’s head and torso level. Smaller sections make the diagram more detailed. The lens provides the detector with accurate information about the thermal object in the detection zone and the nature of its movement.

Thermal interferences filter
We processed thousands of thermal patterns caused by humans, pets, and the environment to develop the SmartDetect software algorithm. In armed mode, the detector constantly analyses the thermal diagram from the PIR sensor, including the IR radiation intensity, thermal spot size, movement speed, time spent in the detection zone, and other parameters. The algorithm identifies false alarm markers instantly and with high accuracy. As a result, the detector accurately responds to human movement without false alarms.

Temperature compensation
Temperature compensation is a software mechanism that maintains the thermal diagram’s contrast even if the ambient temperature is close to the temperature of the human body. With each ambient temperature measurement, the detector corrects the PIR sensor data according to the coefficient table stored in its memory. The detector is effective over the entire operating temperature range.

Sensitivity level
The detector can adapt to the conditions of a particular facility, considering possible thermal interference or pets. The sensitivity setting changes the set of markers by which false alarms are filtered. Low sensitivity makes the detector less likely to respond to an active pet. With high sensitivity, an alarm is raised whenever there is any movement in the detection area.

Professional installation
With the correct installation at the height of 2.4 m and lens direction perpendicular to an alleged intrusion path, the detector provides an accurate thermal diagram and pet immunity. It instantly responds to a real threat, minimising false alarms caused by pets weighing up to 20 kg and below 50 cm in height.

Unique wireless technology

Jeweller is Ajax’s proprietary radio protocol for secure two-way communication. It provides block encryption and device authentication during each communication session with an Ajax hub or radio signal range extender. Jeweller prevents sabotage, spoofing, and data theft.

System supervision

All Ajax devices continuously perform automatic self-diagnosis and transmit information about their state to the hub in real time. The system constantly monitors critical parameters, such as the states of the tamper button, sensors, communication, and power supply, to ensure flawless operation. Ajax Cloud manages the connection between the hub and Ajax apps, guaranteeing instant notifications for users, CMSs, and security companies. If a malfunction or communication loss is detected, an installer will be immediately informed to provide rapid support and maintain uninterrupted security.

Sabotage protection

Tamper alarm
The detector's enclosure has a tamper button that notifies the monitoring company and users once the device is detached from the mounting panel.

Data encryption
All data the system stores and transmits is protected by block encryption featuring a dynamic key. Encryption makes it extremely difficult to reprogram the device and replace or steal the data.

Informative notifications
An Ajax system instantly notifies about alarms and events. Monitoring companies and users know exactly which device triggered, when, and where it happened.

Regular polling
The device regularly exchanges data with the hub. The system controls each device's state and reports if there is a malfunction or connection loss.

Device authentication against spoofing
The hub checks the device's unique parameters for authentication during each communication session. If any parameter fails the check, the hub ignores the device commands.

Communication loss detection
The device regularly exchanges data with the hub. When the polling interval is set to the minimum (3 data packages once in 12 seconds), it takes only 36 seconds to detect communication loss and notify the monitoring company and users of the incident.

Quick installation and easy setup

MotionProtect Plus U Jeweller comes ready to work right out of the box. Thanks to the SmartBracket mounting panel, installation is quick and requires a minimum of tools, as there is no need to disassemble the enclosure. Adding the device to an Ajax system is also easy: simply scan the QR code in the app. All settings can be adjusted remotely, which makes further configuration fast and effortless. Therefore, no on-site visits are needed.
