The built-in camera captures photos when motion is detected, delivering visual evidence of alarms to the Ajax app within 9 seconds1. MotionCam U Jeweller starts capturing images the moment motion is detected — even before the intruder knows they are caught. An animated series of photos is sent instantly, following the alarm, allowing users to assess the situation quickly. Thanks to HDR technology, the camera delivers clear visuals in both bright and dark environments. To achieve this MotionCam U Jeweller takes two photos at different exposure levels and uses a special algorithm to merge them into a single, balanced frame with optimal lighting and detail.

Privacy first

Detailed event log
The event log stores up to 500 recent system events, providing details such as the device name, time, and event description.

Strict permission distribution
The Privacy menu in Ajax apps allows for precise control over visual data access. MotionCam U Jeweller takes photos only in the event of an alarm. The detector's software architecture does not support on-demand photos. Only users and security professionals with access to the event feed in Ajax apps can see the photo.

Encryption and GDPR
Photos are encrypted throughout their transmission. Only system users can view the photos stored in the Ajax Cloud virtual storage. Stored photos cannot be processed or analysed. The Ajax Cloud server is hosted on geographically distributed servers that comply with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) standards.

HDR for challenging lighting conditions

MotionCam U Jeweller captures clear, balanced images using an advanced optical system, a CMOS sensor, and HDR (High Dynamic Range) technology. HDR improves colors and contrast by combining photos with different exposures into one. This prevents images from being too bright or too dark. As a result, photos look more colorful, detailed, and natural — just like we see things in real life.

PIR sensor
All Ajax motion detectors use PIR sensors by Excelitas Technologies, a field-leading American manufacturer specialising in designing and producing optronic components since 1931. Ajax Systems constantly proves the sensor’s superior quality at the production stage: we test 100% of manufactured devices. This approach ensures the utmost accuracy of intrusion detection.

Sensitivity level
The detector’s sensitivity can be adjusted via Ajax apps to suit specific site conditions. PRO users can choose from three sensitivity levels to balance detection accuracy and false alarm prevention. The sensitivity setting changes the set of markers by which false alarms are filtered. Low sensitivity makes the detector less likely to respond to an active pet. High sensitivity raises the alarm in case of any motion in the detection zone. The optimal setting can be determined during installation via the detection zone test. The setting can be adjusted at any time when the system is disarmed if environmental conditions change or false alarms occur.

Special lens
The pattern of the Fresnel lens sections is designed to differentiate between the IR diagrams of a human, pet, and thermal noise. Large lens sections capture radiation at an adult’s head and torso level. Smaller sections make the diagram more detailed. The lens provides the detector with accurate information about the thermal object in the detection zone and the nature of its movement.

Thermal interferences filter
We processed thousands of thermal patterns caused by people, pets, and the environment to develop the SmartDetect software algorithm. In armed mode, the detector constantly analyses the thermal diagram from the PIR sensor, including the IR radiation intensity, thermal spot size, movement speed, time spent in the detection zone, and other parameters. The algorithm identifies false alarm markers instantly and with high accuracy. As a result, the detector accurately responds to movement without false alarms.

Temperature compensation
Temperature compensation is a software mechanism that maintains the contrast of the thermal diagram even if the ambient temperature is close to the temperature of the human body. With each ambient temperature measurement, the detector corrects the PIR sensor data according to the coefficient table stored in its memory. The detector is effective over the entire operating temperature range.

Professional installation
With the correct installation at the height of 2.4 m and lens direction perpendicular to an alleged intrusion path, the detector provides an accurate thermal diagram and pet immunity. It instantly responds to a real threat, minimising false alarms caused by pets weighing up to 20 kg and below 50 cm in height.

In addition to real-time testing during battery production, Ajax Systems inspects every unit to ensure the accuracy of the batteries’ characteristics. The batteries provide stable performance at a temperature from –10 °C to +40 °С.

Unique wireless technologies

Ajax systems use two-way secure radio communication based on Jeweller and Wings proprietary protocols. Radio protocols work in parallel and focus on their own function, guaranteeing instant data delivery even in the event of communication interruptions or a weak signal.

System supervision

The device performs automatic self-diagnosis and reports its status to the hub. Essential parameters, including tamper alarms, communication, power supply, and sensor statuses, are continuously monitored. The Ajax Cloud server controls communication between the hub and Ajax apps, ensuring instant notifications for ARCs, and users. In case of any malfunction or communication failure, an engineer is informed immediately to provide necessary services.

Sabotage resistance

Tamper alarm
The detector enclosure features a tamper that activates an alarm if the device is detached from the surface or if its enclosure is opened. The system instantly notifies the ARC and users.

Data encryption
All data the system stores and transmits is protected by block encryption featuring a dynamic key. This encryption provides protection against data theft, spoofing, and software tampering.

Informative notifications
An Ajax system instantly notifies security companies and users of alarms and events. These notifications include information such as which device activated an alarm, along with the location and time.

Device authentication against spoofing
The hub checks the device’s unique parameters for authentication during each communication session. If any parameter fails the check, the hub ignores device commands.

Regular polling
The device regularly exchanges data with the hub. The system controls each device’s state and reports any malfunction.

Communication loss detection
With minimal polling interval settings (3 data packages every 12 seconds), it takes only 36 seconds to detect communication loss and notify the ARC and users of the incident.

Effortless installation and setup

MotionCam U Jeweller is ready to operate straight out of the box. Using the SmartBracket panel, an installer can effortlessly mount the device on the wall, eliminating the need to disassemble the enclosure. Ajax apps help quickly make the device a part of the ecosystem: simply pair the device with the hub by scanning the QR code. It can always be reconfigured remotely without the need for on-site visits.
